A famous artist reflects on the summer when she turned 12, haunted by a trauma that she will overcome only through her art. Her rebellious creativity and fantasies clash with the gaze of adults who begin to consider her as a woman.

Kara Bayram is a poor farmer living in a Turkish village with his wife, 3 kids (4th on the way) and his old mother Irazca Ana. They live on their own until another villager, Haceli who is backed up by the Mukhtar (local administrator of the Village) starts to build a new house right in front of their's. Kara Bayram and Irazca Ana do not accept these uninvited neighboors from the first day and unwanted events start right away.

The film is wonderful written, with few words and a great, exciting pace (though it takes its time and lot of it). Stop: there may be a lot of words, sometimes, but what's important is between-the-lines. The performances are marvellous. Style and location (all shot "on location") remind of this specific independent NYC style of Jarmusch, Poe, Seidelman, Silver, etc.

The Russians need a baseball coach for their Olympic team, and Sparky is just the man for the job. Once on Russian soil though, he soon discovers that the Russian team is composed of athletes, hockey players, and shot putters who barely know their way around a diamond. Confronted with this losing team, hilarious comedy ensues when Sparky is told to accept an invitation to have his team visit the States and play his old team the Mariners.
